20 Weeks-Halfway There!

How far along? 20 Weeks 1 day

Size of baby? The length of a cantaloupe-about 6 1/2 inches and about 10 1/2 ounces

Total weight gain: None (I really haven't grown much which is why I haven't posted any baby bump pics-I just look like I've got a little chubby in my stomach)

Maternity clothes? Just a few things here and there mainly because I'm tired of my clothes. Today is the first morning that my work pants felt just a bit tighter than I like but not enough to have to unbutton them

Stretch marks? None, my skin has been itching so much that I've been trying to keep it hydrated as much as possible

Sleep: Great

Best moment this past week: Yesterday morning Riley ended up in bed with me before work. As I was laying with her cuddled up next to me asleep with her hand cupping my face, baby started kicking. It was a sweet moment with my two girls :)

 Miss Anything? Not really

Movement: I've been able to feel her more throughout the day. Tony got to feel her for the first time on his birthday last Friday and again last night in bed.

Food cravings: I know I had something different one night this week but I can't think of what it is. Fresh fruit always sounds so good to me

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. I forgot to take my pills to help with morning sickness a few nights ago and if it hadn't been for a stupid coughing fit I think I would have gone all day without feeling at all sick

 Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms: Nothing really

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: A bit of both. On Monday I had a pregnancy moment where I totally started crying for really no reason

Looking forward to: Seeing how Riley is with baby girl

NOT Looking forward to: I can't really think of anything right now

This past weekend we got to spend as a family, it was a long weekend. On Saturday we went on a hike and it was so fun to see Riley on it. She took her time when she walked on her own and had fun in the water and dirt. I love seeing her experience new things. She is so curious all the time and she's learning more and more every day. Her vocabulary continues to grow and we've been working on her using her words more instead of getting frustrated. She's very short tempered and impatient-not a good combination. She'll get upset as she realizes what she is trying to do won't work and then have a ridiculous melt down. We've been struggling with how to help her deal with her frustrations. She also throws major fits anytime she doesn't get her way. So we've taken to putting her in time out where we just set her up against the wall in the living room and tell her not to move. It doesn't normally take too long for her to calm down and it seems to be helping a bit.
We moved her into her toddler bed 2 weeks ago and she's doing pretty good for the most part. A few nights Tony or I have had to put her down a second time and we'll just lay next to her bed pretending to be asleep(or in my case actually fall asleep) and she'll fall asleep in a few minutes. The main problem we've been having(and I'll take this over other issues we could be having!) is in the morning once she wakes up she realizes she can get out of bed so she'll stand or lay at the door and just knock and say "mommy" over and over. That would be fine if it was at the normal time she should get up, but it's over an hour before she should wake up(this morning it was 2 hours). Not sure how we're going to work on that but hopefully we'll figure something out soon.
Riley absolutely LOVES babies. She loves her baby dolls and she especially loves putting them to sleep. She rocks them in her rocker, and bounces them to get them to stop crying and shushes them, then she lays them on her pillow, pulls the blanket off and says "SHHH! BABY SLEEPING!" She normally closes her door and looks so proud of herself. Tony asked her in the car the other day to put her baby to sleep and I guess she started kind of yelling at him so he turned the music down and she said "Shh! Baby sleeping!" so he turned the music up again to see if that's what she meant and she did the same thing! She's a little smarty pants
Riley loves "wash hands" and by that she also means washing dishes. She'll pull the kitchen chairs up to the sink if we let her and she'll just stand there and rinse dishes for as long as we'll let her.
She loves coloring with pen, really doesn't care about the colored pencils she has. Also loves her bath crayons. I'm sure she'd love coloring with crayons but she chews them so we don't give them to her. I read that she should be starting to make shapes and not just scribble-I don't see that happening quite yet
We've been reading more books which is fun but I'm getting tired of the same ones over and over. I've also been trying to teach her "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and she thinks is the funniest thing, but she won't do it herself even though she knows all those body parts. She ends up just hitting my shoulders and singing random words. It's pretty adorable though
Right now Riley loves Mickey "Nouse" and would watch it constantly if we let her. She also love The Incredibles "Ibles" is how Riley pronounces it. She loves all things Frozen but doesn't really want to watch the movie now(which I'm sure Tony is grateful for).
She is so much fun right now and I absolutely love her! I think we'll keep her around :)
