7 Months and Crazy!

I feel like this past month Riley has learned so much and has changed the most. She is such a crack up and we love her to death! She's had days that she's driven me crazy, but she completely makes every moment worth it!
Here are some of the highlights of this past month:
-Can go from crawling to sitting up on her own
-Didn't like spinach to begin with, but she'll tolerate it now
-12/3-i heard her laughing to herself in her crib at 6:45 as I was getting ready for work. When I went in she'd puller herself onto her knees and was holding herself up with one hand looking like she was dancing.
-11/30-I had taken some clothes out of a small bin and put them in the washer that is right outside her bedroom, when I came back she'd already pulled herself on top of the bin
-she hasn't done as good sleeping as she has in the past. She'll wake up normally twice a night now to eat and it's killing me!
-12/5 had diarrhea for the first time. I don't know if its because I had just introduced sweet potatoes the night before or if she was sick, so we're laying off those for awhile
-12/8-started pulling yourself onto your feet
-12/9-She wouldn't take a bottle for Tony so he put it on the ground, she crawled over to it, rolled over to lay on her back and she fed herself
-loves oatmeal cereal! She doesn't mind peas either
-Hates carrots and squash
-Has face planted onto the tile a couple times
-Stands holding onto stuff constantly!!
-Can scoot holding onto the couch
-Stands in her crib and cries instead of taking naps or going to bed(sometimes)
-It's almost a guarantee to get a kiss if you hold her to look out the window
-Has learned how to crawl over thing
-Started a terrible scream when she doesn't get what she wants...I am not a fan
-Tries to crawl away from us with a huge smile on her face
-Love remotes
-Great at unwrapping presents
-The days I don't have to work she will sleep til 8:15 or 8:30. I feel bad I have to wake her up to feed her before I drop her off and go to work
-Does really good playing on her own
-There were a couple nights she refused to sleep. She decided that the middle of the night was the perfect time to be wide awake and playing.....it made for two super tired parents!
-She has been very much a momma's girl the past few days especially.
-Very strong willed

It really doesn't feel like it's been 7 months since we welcomed this sweet little girl into our home. She is truly the greatest blessing we could ask for.

6 Months

Riley is now 6 months old! Half a year! It doesn't seem possible to me at all.

Highlights:

• 10/30-sat unassisted. She got so excited that she fell over. That was really the only time until the day before her 6 months
• She's such a faker and has been for awhile. She pretends to cough ALL THE TIME! It's really cute and funny
• She remembered how to turn from her stomach to her back
• Scoots constantly
• 11/12 crawled forward once on each leg
• 11/14 has mastered crawling! But still prefers to scoot because she's faster. Tony says it looks like she's swimming
• Hates being in a room by herself unless she's going to bed and then she doesn't seem to care at all
• 11/2 she copied me and said "dada"!!!! Now she says it constantly and it's adorable. She gets a huge face on like she knows she's growing up so fast
• Aunt Montana taught her how to say "rawr" (as in roar like a lion)
• 11/13 she said "mama" while I was at work. But I hadn't heard it until just a few days ago
• Loves looking out the window
• Gives kisses!!! Really she just puts her open mouth and tongue on your face but she does it when I ask for a kiss
• She found out her tongue comes out of her mouth
• The loves going for things she can't have....especially cords, remotes and phones
• Had her first Thanksgiving
• Introduced food on Thanksgiving, a day before her 6 month mark. I skipped baby cereal and went straight to purees. I gave her avocado. She really didn't care much for the food, was more interested in the spoon. I thought she'd have a lot more fun than she did
• She lights up whenever she sees Tony or me
• She goes to bed fairly easily between 7:30 and 8. She goes through phases if she'll sleep through the night or wake up once
• Isn't a very good napper. She really needs at least one around 1 pm but she fights it and will just scream and scream. A lot of times we'll just go pick her up and she'll fall asleep on our chest. I hate doing that but sometimes she just really needs the sleep so I'm desperate ha
• We're still nursing. Her having 2 two makes it harder and I get sore a lot even with a really good latch, but overall it's still going really well
• Fluoride makes you throw up

At her dr's appoint the day before Thanksgiving he said everything looks perfect. These were her statistics:

• 15.37 lbs, 40th percentile
• 26 inches, 63rd percentile
• 16.5 in head circumference, 39th percentile

This past month has been so wonderful! Riley really is a good baby. She's so happy and so fun! It amazes me how quickly she picks up on things and how interested she is in everything! I love her so much and I always look forward to seeing her when I get home from work and first thing in the morning. I also love going in after she's asleep and seeing how peaceful she is(and its always fun to see what position she's gotten herself in, she definitely uses her whole crib every night!)
Tony's been really busy with work. November and December are their busy season and some nights he doesn't get home til after Riley is asleep and will leave before she wakes up. I know that's hard for him. I look forward to when it slows down a bit for him so we can spend more time together!
I added another position to what I'm already doing at work. It started out pretty stressful but I think it's going pretty good. I enjoy that I'm able to stay a lot busier, and I'm learning more which is always good.
Not a whole lot else is going on with us. Tony's brother gets home from his mission tomorrow and I've never met him, so I'm looking forward to that. My parents are driving through this weekend so I am really looking forward to seeing them. I miss my family a lot.

Can it really be 6 months?!?

I'll write a separate post of all the crazy things Riley has done this past month...and man is it a lot! For now, here are some pictures!

Five months!

Man, this month has flown by! I feel like I just did her 4 month post. 

Here are some highlights from the past month

Five months:

-did really good with her last shots. Got fussy the day after but that's it

-rolling over in her crib

-got her leg stuck in crib when rolling over a bunch of times so we had to get a bumper pad

-she's been talking to herself constantly. I'll hear her in her crib talking to herself before she starts fussing to eat in the morning

-favorite moments..conf weekend she laid in between us talking for like an hour

-did awesome on our car trip to Provo and Richfield 

-10/8 there is a little tooth poking out! Her bottom left middle

-10/9 second tooth poking through, bottom right middle. So she now has her bottom middle teeth!

-10/12 started moving toys between hands 

-started this high pitch squeal thing

-sleeps on her stomach, a lot of times with her bum in the air

-moves around her crib constantly

-moved to level 2 flow nipples

-if you grab her hands she'll pull herself to sit and stand

-she'll help tony when he's getting her out of her car seat 

-she's in size one and two diapers

-got another cold

Other than Riley growing like crazy I don't feel like a whole lot has gone on. We went to a mission reunion and saw my sister Becky for a little bit. Then we went to stay with our friends Emil and Kelsi in  Richfield for a couple days. The following weekend we drove back up north and bought a car. A 2010 corolla s. We love it! Other than that I feel like we've been pretty boring. I just don't want to do a whole lot after I get home from work and I want to just hang out with Riley all weekend when dad is at work. It's hard knowing I'm gone so much during the day that I don't want to miss any time with her when I don't have to. I just love that little girl!
