Month 4

Monday Riley had her 4 month appointment. Her 4 month statistics were:
-24 inch head. 78th percentile
-24 1/4 inches long. 50th percentile
-14 lbs 3 oz. 63rd percentile
(at three months she weighed 13 lbs 12 oz)
She did really good at her appt. She had more shots and it was so sad. I didn't cry this time though.

This past month has been so fun! Riley has really become a lot more active and social-I Love it! Here are some of the highlights of the past month.
-She found her thumb. She looks so cute when she sucks it, she normally covers her nose with her other fingers. I didn't want her to be a thumb sucker, but she seems to only suck it when she's tired(she'll put herself to sleep by it, so that's nice) or when she's getting hungry.
-She grabs onto EVERYTHING!
-She's started to teethe
-She got another cold
-She's turning over from her back to her stomach all the time! But she seems to have forgotten how to turn back over
-She scoots all over the place. I'll be watching her the whole time and I honestly can't figure out how she moves around in a circle or across the mat we have on the floor...it's crazy.
-Her hair looks like I took scissors to the back and just cut a straight line across
-She's not sleeping quite as good. I think having a cold, teething and her shots have kind of made it harder for her to sleep
-She started holding her own bottle
-She apparently is a pain to feed with a bottle recently. She'll act hungry but will just chew on the bottle
-She can sit up pretty well on her own
-When she's laying on her back she can life her head up pretty far...she's getting so strong!
-She doesn't have a schedule for naps....She sleeps when she's tired. I have her on a pretty consistent schedule for going to bed though. She's really good at putting herself to sleep at night too
-She only goes poo once or twice a week
-She cuddles with me a lot. She seems to be more and more clingy to me recently
-She kicks her leg up and down like she's doing leg lifts all the time
-She doesn't like when I turn the shower head on when I'm giving her a bath
-Tony makes her dance and it's adorable!
-She has an adorable laugh. She also squeals when she really likes something

It amazes me how much I truly love this little girl! She means everything to Tony and me. I cannot imagine my life without her, and I don't want to. She's becoming more fun each day! It amazing to see her little personality developing and to see her learn and grow.
I've always known there was a God and I've also always had a testimony of the gospel. But since finding out I was pregnant last year those things have constantly been making themselves more and more manifest in my life. From seeing the first ultrasound a year ago this past Friday, when Riley was the size of a piece of rice, to learning how she developed in the womb so that she was fully developed and healthy when she was born, to seeing her grow each day I know without a shadow of a doubt that Heavenly Father is real and that He is perfect in His plan. I am so grateful to have this sweet little spirit in our family. She has brought us so much joy and we are so happy we get to be with her for all eternity! That is something I wish for everyone, that they can be with their family forever all because of the sealing power that is available only in the temple! How grateful I am that Tony and I were sealed in the temple. It gives me incredible comfort.
